Revelation 22:18 For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Final Warning

We have come to the end of this series, but we need to look at the final warning. Have you ever read the copyright infringement penalty for copying or changing proprietary works of creation? There are some serious fines handed out. China is known or accused of doing this to works. Millions have been paid out to people in the US after trade deals have been negotiated.

What we are looking at here is something way more serious. God tells us that if anyone takes away or adds to His word, then there will be penalties. Think back over the bowl judgments, trumpet judgments and the seal judgments. These plagues will be added to those who add to the word. If you take away, then God will take your name from the Book of Life. These are some serious penalties.

The third mention

Revelation 22:20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! This is the third time Jesus is telling us that He is coming quickly! When God repeats Himself, we are to pay extra attention. But three times! We had better wake up every day with the expectation that it is the day of the return. Do not play with your soul!

Grace for you

Revelation 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. We all have the same access to the grace offered to us by Jesus. The only way that we end up in hell is the fact that we rejected Jesus. He has made it so easy for us to be with Him eternally. Maybe that is the problem; we think we should have to work for it, but we don’t. He wants us with Him. We are His children. Consider this and make your decision wisely.
