Revelation 22:1 And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

The Purest Water

Water in this world is life. We only have a matter of three days if we are healthy, to live without water. Water cleans itself over time. Water is powerful and can cut through mountains. Now think of the water that flows from the throne of God. This is a picture of abundance, a picture of purity with it being clear as crystal. God will supply all we need in eternity. Isaiah 41:18 I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.

Revelation 22:1 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. The river of life supports the agriculture of God. The tree of life grows in the street and on either side of the river. Remember that Adam clothed himself with leaves when he sinned against God. Here the leaves from the river of life heal the nations. We have come full circle.

Marked by God

Revelation 22:3-4 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. The curse of sin has been destroyed and Satan is in hell. The saints are in the presence of God serving Him. Notice that we are not sitting on clouds playing harps. No, we have work to do.

Notice also that the saints are marked by God. His name is on our foreheads. The seal of the Holy God is on us. Not the cheap mark of the beast. The seal of approval marks the approved children of God. What an honor and what an eternity we have in store who have been found righteous through the blood of Jesus.

No Darkness

Revelation 22:5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever. I like that this is repeated. No more darkness. The Light of the World will shine forevermore! Will you be found in this Light? Jesus awaits your decision.
