Revelation 21:22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
In the presence
The temple is a place God gave the Israelites to be able to be in His presence on earth. As Christians, we look to the gathering of the saints together in a building we call the church. But we are able to be in His presence throughout our days through the Holy Spirit. But this is much different. No man has been able to look upon the face of God and live. Now God and Jesus are among us and there is no need for a temple. We will be continually in His presence.
Revelation 21:23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. Think of the power of the glory of God. To light up everything where the sun is no longer needed to spread light. In Ezekiel 1:28 we see a snippet of God’s glory but nothing like this. When Moses was on Mount Sinai in the presence of God, he glowed when coming back down. Imagine our countenance being continually around Him.
He lights our path
Revelation 21:24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. He will light and guide our way forever more. Walking in His perfect way, we will glorify and honor Him. He deserves everything that we can bring Him and more. But He revels in the relationships that He will have forevermore. This is the great thing about our Father in Heaven; His love is overwhelming.
Revelation 21:25 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Think of never ever having to walk in darkness again. There will be no more night. The glory of the Lord will shine forever.
Righteous forever
Revelation 21:27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. No more sin shall be. Sinners who have not sought the grace of Jesus through His sacrifice will not be found in the Book of Life. They are cast into the lake of fire! Where do you stand in this decision of decisions?
