Chained
We know from the song that Zack Williams sings, Jesus is a chain breaker. We have the opportunity at present to call upon Him to be that for us. Here though there is something completely opposite happening. The angel is coming down from Heaven with a key and a chain. Satan has been defeated. The anti-Christ and the false prophet have been cast into hell. But a great chain is going to be used to secure Satan into a place called the bottomless pit.
What is the bottomless pit? This is not the place we know as hell because this place is eternal. Satan will be chained but not for eternity. This is a temporary action, and we will discuss it further later. What could the bottomless pit be? Maybe it is a black hole the scientists say they have discovered. A place where nothing can escape, not even light. Wherever it is, Satan is chained there for a thousand years.
The Reason
Revelation 20:2-3 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things, he must be released for a little while.
We will learn more about the millennial reign tomorrow. But for a thousand years, Satan will be chained and unable to influence people. From the time of Genesis 3 until this moment, Satan has been doing everything he can to hurt God. He has done this at the expense of us and our children. Look around at the world and its craziness and confusion. This is the influence of Satan.
God’s Plan
Genesis 1:1 Tells us that God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God, He created him; male and female He created them. We were created in His image. Sin then entered in and the curse came. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Even though we have sinned, God has made a way for us. Have you accepted Him as Lord?
