Revelation 17:14 “These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

The War!

We have been working through chapter 17 for the last several days and have gone through some confusing verses. But none of these verses are as confusing to me than the ones we will study tonight. Not for the content but for the context. The Beast, the Prophet and Satan have stirred the people left on the judged earth to want to go to war with the Lamb! Those who are scripture savvy know that this is Jesus.

But at this time even though we know Him as the Lamb, He is not functioning as the Lamb. He is now the Lion of the tribe of Judah! All judgment has been committed to Him from the Father. Only fair. Jesus went to the cross and paid the penalty for all sin. The ones who are planning the war against Him at this time are also the people who refused to accept Him as Lord and Savior. Now look who is also with Him. Us, the saints and the chosen through Him.

The build-up

Revelation 17:15-16 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. We have seen the harlot and where she sits on the hills of Rome. The waters are the vast number of people who have the mark of the beast. The ten horns are the coalition that has come together to stand with Satan.

Now we see the harlot (Babylon) the false religious system being torn down by the anti-Christ. People have seen what the unholy trinity truly is about and are starting to reject them. But Satan and his team are too powerful and start to turn on this false religion. A house now is divided as it prepares to face off against the Lamb.

The Purpose

Revelation 17:7 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled. No matter how terrible the times have been and all the terrible judgments. No matter what Satan has planned. We always need to remember that God is in control. He has allowed the unholy trinity the power it has, He has allowed the false religion to rise, and He has done this for His purposes.

God is in control no matter how crazy the world seems to get. He is the master chess player, and He has set the board up for His will to be accomplished. His greatest desire is for all mankind to come to Him and seek His forgiveness. Will you come to Him through repentance?
