Revelation 17:10 “There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time.
Continued learning of the woman and the beast
The beast as we already talked about, represents the anti-Christ. There is a coalition that the beast controls from the seven mountains of Rome. There are seven kings talked about here. Five come before John’s time, one is present in John’s time, and one is in the future. The future king is the beast. But note that the beast has power only for a short time.
The Seven Kings and ten horns
Revelation 17:11 “The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. I can certainly understand the confusion because these statements are confusing. But basically, the beast is the eighth king of the seven because he possesses the seventh king fooling those who want to support the seventh king. I do understand!
Revelation 17:12 The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. Daniel 2:24-25 refers to a statue that king Nebuchadnezzar dreamed about. The ten toes was a kingdom that was coming for him in the future. Here in this passage, it refers to a coming confederation that is controlled by Satan, but they have no real power.
Confusion
Exodus 23:27 “I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. These particular verses in this book are hard to understand. But if we want to understand them God will show us a way. But if we truly do not want to know God uses verses like this to make people want to walk away.
Desire to draw closer to God and His word has to be inspired by the Holy Spirit. You only receive the Holy Spirit if you accept Jesus as your savior. We have to come to Jesus in faith. We have to utilize this faith to receive true understanding. The crux of this all is, have you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior.
