Revelation 13:5 And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.
What does the beast do?
The beast from the sea as we saw last time is the anti-Christ. The most important fact that we need to see in these scriptures is that he is given power from God to do the acts he does. None of this is taking God by surprise, and we have already seen that Michael cast Satan out of heaven. Now the entire focus of the wrath of the dragon and the beast is on the earth.
The beast will speak blasphemies from his mouth against God. This is allowed because the hearts of men and women are full of what is being spoken. So, the beast is given the authority to speak these things to stir the ire in the hearts of people against God. My thought is after the previous judgements, how can man muster the courage to do this?
What will happen with the beast?
Revelation 13:7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. Once again war is coming to the saints who are saved by the preaching of the 144,000 Jewish preachers from each tribe who has been saved. More killing and destruction are to take place over the next 42 months.
Then, authority to rule the nations is given to the beast. No country or ethnic group will not be affected by this authority. There will be nowhere to hide or escape from the wrath that is to be brought forth. Then, we find the purpose behind the plan of Satan. Revelation 13:8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. People worship not from a place of love but rather a place of fear.
Think about this.
The people who have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life do not worship the beast or Satan. Those who have knowledge and have accepted Jesus’s saving grace are taken to heaven during the Rapture. The people saved after the Rapture are persecuted and slain, but then they will live with God in eternity. The unsaved will suffer these judgements and spend eternity in a place worse than what will happen to them during the great tribulation.
John 3:16-17
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
