Revelation 12:13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

The dragon and the male Child.

After last time and the dragon and his hordes being kicked out of heaven, we find ourselves back on earth. The dragon after losing the battle has to be tremendously angry. He goes back to his old tricks and starts to persecute. Who finds themselves under persecution? The woman is Israel; we learned that last time. She gave birth to the male Child. Once again, the Jewish people are under attack from Satan.

Have you ever noticed that for a country so small Israel finds itself in the midst of so much controversy today? Why? Because it was God’s chosen people to deliver the Messiah. God had to send a flood in Noah’s day to stop the lineage of His Son from being corrupted. Even after the coming of the Messiah, Satan persecutes God’s chosen people. Even though Judeasim is a fulfilled religion, Jesus came and brought with Him a new covenant.

What happens after this?

Revelation 12:4 But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. God sends a great eagle to help Israel. What could this great eagle be? What is the national bird of the United States? Could America be the country God uses to help this tiny nation? I do not know, but it seems to be a good theory. But also, the eagles’ wings could be God helping them like He did in the exodus.

Revelation 12:15-16 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. Satan does not give up. He tries harder to inflict as much damage as possible to these people. This was prophesied in Daniel 11:31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation.

Is Satan finished?

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Sadly, no there is still more to come. Being so enraged that he is not ultimately successful, Satan goes out to find more people to persecute. Mainly people who now confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. Yes, there are some followers left on earth after the 144,000 Jewish priests go forth and preach Jesus.

Think about what was just said. During this time of great tumult, people are being saved. Times are good in this age. Are you saved through the blood of Jesus? That should be the lingering question in your mind today.
