Revelation 7:9-10 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

Who is this great multitude?

We are told that those who read this book of Revelation will receive a blessing. We have been through the seven churches with their encouragements and warnings. We have been through six seals and the 144,000. There is a lot of heaviness in this last book of the Bible. But now we have a chance to breathe and to know that there is some good news.

There is a great multitude made up of every tribe and every nation that cannot be numbered. They are before the throne of God and singing out praise to Him. They are clothed in white robes which mean they are purified by the blood of Jesus and are waving palm branches like the triumphful entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Who are these people? They are not the saints who were raptured. No, they are the ones who were saved during the time of this horrible tribulation.

Do these have the same promise we have as raptured Christians?

Revelation 7:16-17 “They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” Think of what these saved men and women have gone through. War, famine and God-allowed disasters. They are killed for being followers of Christ. Even through this horrible judgment, there are those who come to the saving grace of Jesus!

They are rewarded just like we will be. They are comforted by God. They will not know hunger any longer, and they will have every tear wiped away by Jesus. This is not people who heard the gospel and rejected Jesus pre-tribulation. These are truly people who are hearing the gospel for the first time or preachers from the Jewish lineage. This is hard for us to imagine with all the technology of today’s time that some have not heard the gospel, but it is true.

The take away.

No one has to go through this judgement. Hell was not created for man. It was created for Satan and his demons. Jesus says, ” I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Do you know Jesus? There is no other way to escape the coming judgement. This is not a scare tactic; it is only the truth.
