Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
How do we make disciples?
We have a charge from our God. We are to go forth and make disciples. In order to make disciples, we have to tell people our testimony and speak the word of God into them. Most people think what they have to say is not important. But people want to know why? Why you gave your life to the Lord? Why you are going to church. They are curious, and your story matters.
My testimony is about my being an alcoholic by the age of twelve. And from there to the hate I had for people and the actions that stemmed from that hate. It is not pretty, but it is true. Jesus came and finally let me hit rock bottom, then I looked up and could not help but see Him. I mean truly see Him. That moment changed my life and my eternity. This has driven me to tell people about what He has done to change me for the better.
Does this really work?
Psalm 78:52 But He made His own people go forth like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. I have used what my life was like before Jesus came in many times to let people know how great He has been to me. I have been able to reach people of all colors and many nations. See we all have many challenges in life that are common, more than you would think. When people hear this, their ears perk up.
I have also had people reject me and be mean. This is to be expected at times. Satan has a stronghold on many. But the important thing is God is guiding us, and He is using us to let others know about Him. This is His plan. He wants us to choose Him, but He will not force Himself upon us. We just need to listen to His voice and follow. People want to know, and I have been fortunate enough to pray with people to accept Him. It was not me but the Holy Spirit in me doing this work. Only because I allowed Him to use me.
Does God really care about me?
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is the basis of the entire gospel. God so loved, He gave. He did this for you and for me. Will you open your heart to Him today?
