What is wisdom?
Intelligence is the mental capacity to reason, solve problems and learn from experience. Just because someone is intelligent does not mean they are wise. So, the question has to be posed, about the difference in intelligence and wisdom. There are so many intelligent people running around this world, but the world seems to be getting more ignorant. I mean look at all the intelligent people who do not know if they are male or female. Most do not realize the difference between right or wrong.
What is wisdom then? Proverbs 2:6 For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Wisdom is a gift that is given to us by God! True understanding and knowledge are not created by man but pursued by man after coming into a relationship with the Almighty. Anything else is man’s intelligence and is on the road to failure.
How does one use wisdom?
Proverbs 3:19 The Lord by wisdom created the heavens, and by understanding He established the heavens. These gifts are used to create good and to tend the good that is created. Wisdom helps us to help others. Proverbs 10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of wisdom. The arena of ideas in today’s world lacks wisdom. Why? Because the foundational principles they uphold hurt other people. They hurt the core of the family, which in turn hurts the world.
When we walk with God in His wisdom, nations are built. America is a prime example. So is England. But because of the lack of wisdom sought after, look at both nations now. England is a breath away from being a Muslim nation, and America is finding herself entangled in forever wars. This is the result of years of turning away from God and His principles.
What do we do to gain wisdom?
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, and then we get wisdom. We need to turn back to God and seek to repent from our sin. This is the path and the way that was set before us by God. He knew this was going to happen and gave us the free will to let it come this far. He has expressed tremendous grace and mercy on our earth up until this point. Repent and know there is a God in heaven. Seek His love and mercy.
