Psalm 121:1-3 I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help? My help come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt threatened? Maybe it was a walk on a trail, and you had an encounter with a wild animal that could hurt you. Maybe you were in a city that you did not know and took a wrong turn and found yourself in a dangerous place. Did you think to yourself what am I going to do? The same situation appears here in this Psalm. The writer was in the wilderness and scared because of the dangers that lay around him. He, like us, asks himself, where does my help come from?

If you are a believer in Jesus, you know where your help is coming from! The Lord our God never sleeps and never slumbers. He knows all the steps you have and will take. Do you think that He would forget about you in a time where you need Him most? Never! Even if the event turns out differently than you thought it should, God is using this for your good! His entire intent is to grow you in faith, to bring you to a place closer to His will for you. He is the great Shepherd. He loves us.

If you do not have this understanding of God and His Lordship, you cannot depend on His promise. Why? Because you have rejected His love. It is my testimony to tell you I have never had anything close to the love and comfort in my life Jesus has given me. Meditate on this today. He will not disappoint you.
