John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I dreamed a dream but was it real? I dreamed a dream, but it was so surreal. Everything was as the calm before the storm, but the storm is to come. Wind a gust it will always blow, laying down everything before it, the great bellow. Then there is the eye of the storm, where calm it seems is the norm. But then the great wind blows again, the dream it seems has come to an end. Where is the calm? Where is the peace? We must know without the Savior the storm will never cease!
When we have the peace of Jesus, the storms do not matter. In the midst we can be assured that He is with us. Rarely are we on the mountain top, most often we are in the valley. I ask myself how I ever made it through this world without Him. His peace is unexplainable in human terms. We as believers feel it though, just as we feel the heat of the sun. Worldly peace is a misconception; it never truly exists. Just periods of calm like the eye of the storm. But the peace Jesus gives us causes us to move forward. We do not have to be afraid.
How does peace come? It only comes through the understanding and acceptance of Jesus Christ. He has come to make us whole, but it is up to us to make the choice to be whole. He will not beg us only offer us the opportunity to know true peace. What will your answer be? Will you be blown away by the storms? Or have a foundation built on the Rock of Ages?
