John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

In the beginning was the Word. In some false religions it is taught that Jesus was created by God. Here in the scriptures, it teaches us differently. The Word is Jesus, when the beginning began Jesus was, past tense. Jesus has the same attributes as God the Father. Time has no meaning for God. He created time for us. We are constrained by time, but He is not. This is scriptural evidence that Jesus was not a created being like us.

The Word was with God. Again, this is spoken in past tense. Jesus had been with the Father, along with the Holy Spirit. We have the triune Godhead. Jesus came to earth in the form of a man; He was referenced in the scriptures many times as the Son of Man. This does not make Him less than God. No, this shows us how much love that He has for us. He left the perfect place to come to a sinful earth to save us, mankind, from our sin. In other words, He that knew no sin became as sin for us.

Today is Sunday. Today is a day for us to gather and worship the Son of Man, who was forsaken for us so we could have a way to be forgiven. Forgiven so that we could go to the place where He came from and went back to after His crucifixion, death, burial and resurrection. We have the opportunity today to read His word that is about the Word that was with God at the beginning.
