Psalm 5:4 For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.
We as human beings have lines that we do not let anyone cross. Let me re-state: we should have lines that we do not let others cross. We have to have this quality, or we would not have anything of worth. Other people would take it away. This could be things, self-respect or even family. These lines we draw for the most part are very healthy. At times, if our minds or emotions are out of whack, these lines could be a detriment to us. This is because we have let sin dominate us.
God has lines also. He will not allow any form of evil, wickedness or sin into His presence. These are abominations to Him. But He is a God of love? This is a common question many who do not know or understand God ask. Love is a part of His qualities. But He also is righteous, just, merciful, full of grace and holy. When we get the full picture of these qualities, we start to understand the whole picture. But even then, we cannot understand all of His qualities. So, to think that His quality of love will allow you into heaven is just unwise.
The greatness of God is that He always has a plan. From the beginning, He planned on sending His Son Jesus to earth to save us. His sacrifice makes it possible for us, who are sinful, to be forgiven. We are covered by the blood of Jesus which then allows God to see His Son on us to allow us into His presence. This may seem hard to believe, but sin requires the price of death. There is no way we could ever pay that price. Jesus could and did pay the penalty for us. It is just up to us to have faith and believe in His Lordship.
