Matthew 8:28-29 When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

Jesus loved to travel and spread the word of His Father in heaven. There is so much evidence in the existence of Jesus because of His travels. Many people witnessed His miracles and teachings; no one can deny His coming to this earth. Even while traveling He came across two demons who possessed two men. They recognized Jesus and understood who He was and what He was about.

The first thing we notice about the two demons is that they acknowledge they do not want anything to do with Him. They are followers of Lucifer and were kicked out of heaven with him. Then they call Jesus by His title, Son of God. They understood also that Jesus was there at that time to help the two men they had possessed. They asked, “Have you come here to torment us?” He has the power to throw them out and back into hell, the place where the two belongs.

Finally, they admit there is a time frame. God has set a time limit on when Jesus would come back as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. A time when every knee shall bow to His Lordship. We too should understand that our time is limited. We should thank God for every second that we have been allowed to live not knowing Jesus. This means we still have time to humble ourselves to Him.
