Revelation 6:1-2 Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a loud voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked and behold, a white horse, he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

Do you remember watching an old western when you were a kid? There would be a train rolling down the track with smoke bellowing from the stack. Robbers were chasing after it to rob the train. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere came the hero riding a white horse and wearing a white hat. We understand that the white horse usually signaled good coming to save the day. But in the verses above this is not the case.

We ask ourselves as we watch the terrible news coming over the television, “Man, can it get any worse?” This is not a hard question to ask. Wars are happening on multiple continents, anarchy movements are in our major cities causing trouble, and natural disasters seem to plague us. These are the birth pangs Jesus spoke about. But there will be a time when the end times will come and the first man on the white horse is the true signal. This is the great Dragon spoken of the Anti-Christ.

We have heard of a figure like this in history. Nimrod in the Old Testament was a mighty warrior. He was a dictator and was the first great ruler of that age. He built many cities and ruled with an iron fist. It is thought it was his idea to build the tower of Babel. God looked down and decided to confuse the language of the people because they were growing so powerful under Nimrod. The Anti-Christ will be similar but much more powerful and destructive.

The good news is that if you are a Christian, you will not be around to experience this horrible time. This will be a time of great suffering and pain. There will be men begging for the mountains to fall on them because of their distress. If not for the return of Jesus, everything will be destroyed. This is not to scare you but give you the entire picture of future events. It is my hope you will be with me as we escape the coming of this future evil.
