Psalm 115:3-6 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they do not speak; Eyes they have but they do not see; They have ears, but they do not hear; Noses they have, but they do not smell.

It is funny how people try to put the God of the universe, the creator of all in a box. But the simple truth is He does what He wills. We are created, not creators. Talking with people today this burst their bubble. It is strange to me how some think the world revolves around them. Not strange, but sad. Sad because their perspectives are so flawed and selfish. But this is simply the state we find ourselves because of the poor job of the Christian church has done since the mid-1950’s.

Why? There is nothing in this world that is worth more than our souls. Gold and silver are valued more than people in the eyes of most men. These are idols to those who practice this form of religion. Does gold or silver speak wisdom? Can they guide you in a wise way? No. They only have value so man can be more comfortable. Nothing wrong with being comfortable unless we become tools of the things we are supposed to use as tools. In other words, the role has been reversed. People are being used by the materials they are supposed to use to spread Jesus.

There is only one way to have a satisfying life-to honor God with our hearts, minds and souls. This leads us to the path that we were intended to travel. The other ways men live are off ramps to misery. Honoring God through our daily lives is a choice. Make sure the choice you make is one that you can live with eternally.
