Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
I would bet the majority of the people alive today walk around without true purpose. You see it in the culture today. It is called living our best life, meaning let’s hoard all the money we can and go lay on the beach. Or buy a ranch and just get away from the rest of the world. This is not purpose; this is a way to ignore the call that God has on your life. Yes, there is a purpose for your life. God did not put you here just to be self-indulgent.
Jeremiah was a youth when God had this conversation with him. So, age does not matter when you find your purpose. Abraham and Sarah were almost centurions when they had their first child. So, are you fulfilling the purpose God has for you? Matthew 28 calls us to go forth and make disciples and teach to all the nations. There is a purpose for you if you still do not know what God has for you personally. Look around and I bet you see a lot of suffering or hunger. Be the hands and feet of Jesus, help feed and relieve the suffering. Do this as you tell them about Jesus.
The point in saying all this is there is not an excuse to just check out of life. People need to hear the gospel and be helped. Will you go forth? Will you show the less fortunate love as Jesus showed love to us? Every time we do then our treasure from this is stored in heaven. We also take our eyes off us and look at others, which takes the focus off of your problems. This is a winning proposition. So go and show the love of Jesus.
