Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ” He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him will I trust.”

Do you remember when you were a child and sleeping in bed and having a nightmare? Then waking up being frightened. Did you, like me, get out of bed and run to your father’s and mother’s room just to feel safe? When this occurred, we were hiding under the shadow of our parents. We knew that we would be protected no matter what happened. In a much more powerful way, this is what we can do now if we know the Lord.

Our heavenly Father is so much more of a comforter in times of trouble than we could ever imagine before the trouble happens. Our souls seek comfort and security and He gives us that. Parts start shifting and miraculous things start happening. How? We can only give the credit to our loving God. This is the grace and mercy that He promises us. On top of this we can feel His presence walking alongside us. How much more could we ask for when these troublesome times occur?

I have experienced this in my own life on more than one occasion. I trust in Him and His goodness to me. This is only possible because of Jesus Christ and Him being our propitiation. He bled and died for us. There is nothing or anyone in my life I trust in more than Him. I hope you feel the same way. But if you are still seeking grace in troubled times, consider the mercy of Christ.
