Colossians 1:21 -22 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight
There are stories of Japanese soldiers who served on Iwo Jima in World War 2. They took to caves and hide for years from American soldiers. Twenty years after the war was over, they were found and still thought they were at war. Eventually they come to know the truth of what had happened. Can you imagine going that long and living alienated thinking you were at war?
This is how millions of people live today. They think they are alienated from God and are His enemy because of sin in their life. But this simply is not true. God is not our enemy. We think that way because of the wicked lives we live. We welcome sin after sin into our being, and we become fooled at who the real enemy is. Look around at today’s world. There are so many people walking around who do not have any common sense. Right is wrong and wrong is right in their eyes. They are simply fooled by sin.
The Truth has already been established though. He came and sacrificed Himself on a cross, took our sin, went to the grave and was resurrected. He paid the price for us. His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. On this the holiest of weeks, take time and consider if you are fooled or are walking in the truth. This makes an eternal difference!
