Colossians 1:13-14 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Darkness is described as the absence of light. In other words, darkness is not possible when the light is present. Jesus is known as the true Light of the World. When He came into this world, the darkness which was brought by sin represented by Satan, understood time was short. Through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, darkness on this world has a limited lifespan. This was brought to man through the love of God.

If we choose Jesus as Lord, then we are welcomed into the kingdom of God. Our sins are forgiven and we become righteous. That does not mean we are perfect but covered by the blood of Christ into righteousness. After this we are now saints and heirs to the kingdom. This provides us eternity in the presence of God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Can you imagine one day speaking to Peter, John or even king David!

The flip side of this coin is that if you do not choose Jesus then there is a price to be paid. We are taught by Jesus Himself that our soul will perish in a place called hell. Hell was not created for man but for Satan and His minions. But because of the sin we have chosen we too are sent there if we are not under the Lordship of Christ. I know this is not politically correct these days, but it is the truth. Light or darkness, the choice is yours.
