Philippians:4-8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things.

There are so many negative influences in this world, that if we are not careful, we will be pulled away from our purpose. It is not hard to fall into this trap. We feel we are slighted and we focus on the anger from the slight. We watch television and someone is shown in a bad light, and we get frustrated with the character. We listen to music that is filled with bad words and a bad message. No, it is not hard to fall into the trap.

But if you are a true believer in Christ, our focus should not be on the negative. We are to focus on the true and noble things. We should look to do good deeds. Say a kind word when needed. We are to head in the direction where good is happening. Where purity overflows. Church, small groups for Christians and fellowships events are where we should spend our time growing in Christ. When we go to outside events, we should be examples of Christ and not of worldliness.

We are called, and our focus should be on the things of Jesus Christ. We should be encouragers and not discouragers. Too many times, when someone new walks into our churches they see the sour face committee. People who are focused on the negative and not the Godly. So, what do you want your life to represent? Every word, every choice, is a reflection of what is truly in your heart.
