Philippians 2:1-2 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind.

People forget the horrors and suffering under tyrannical governments. I remember in the late nineteen eighties there was a famous wall that a country was screaming to do away with. Why was it there? After World War 2 the Soviet Union and the U.S. government with its allies split the city of Berlin. The Soviet Union being a communist country built a wall in the middle of the city to separate itself. After Ronald Reagan told the Russian leader to tear down that wall, after years of bankrupting the communist party, the wall came down. The people on both sides rejoiced and were of one mind.

If human leaders can unite a people, how much more should followers of Christ be united! Out of love for Jesus and desire for fellowship with fellow followers of Christ, we should be of one mind in the things of Christianity. We should not let simple things like the color of the carpet and what to do with a donated piano split us. We should work together to create an environment to bring lost souls to Jesus. This is our calling. To preach, teach and grow others in maturity in the word of God.

But first, to be able to be of one mind with fellow believers you have to be a believer. Do you know Jesus as Lord and Savior? Do you even acknowledge there is a God in heaven? This is the foundational question that is the fulcrum everything pivots off of. Take time and reflect on the words you have read. Take this a step further and open up the Christian Bible and read the words of God. Seek the meaning of life through these words. At the end of the journey Jesus is waiting for you to welcome you to His kingdom.
