Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
There is a gameshow I like watching, the name of the show is, “The Wall.” For the most part it is a win-win situation. Questions are asked and whichever way the answer goes, there is a green or red ball granted. Red takes money away and green gives money. In the end if the green balls are more successful, there is a contract that guarantees money to the contestant. The choice of signing the contract or ripping it up determines the amount of money won. At the end of the day money is won and life is good.
Paul made a statement in Philippians that reminds me of this show. To live is Christ, and to die is gain. Either way it is a win-win situation. To live means that He experiences Christ through the Holy Spirit and helps people gain knowledge of Christ. He also gets to testify about Christ and helps gain believers. This in of itself is such a blessing. But if he were to die, then the true gain comes into fruition. The true him, his soul goes from this world into the presence of God the Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. That is his eternal reward for being a great disciple.
Wouldn’t you love to be in a win-win situation? No matter what happens, blessing is poured out in your true life. But the only way in which you can experience this blessed life is to first know Jesus as Lord and Savior. Are you ready? Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Ponder this question and ask God to show you the truth. You will not be left without an answer.
