1 Corinthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
Do you ever watch people who are famous and look into the camera and lift up praise to their god? But when you see their actions shake your head and wonder who their god actually is? See the thing about people has always been words are cheap. Actions though, they speak volumes. When we see Jesus, His actions spoke more than anything. So, as you walk through life do your actions line up with God’s word? If you are someone who claims to be Christian, are you mature in your walk?
Paul was admonishing the people of Corinth who claimed to follow Christ. They did not understand spiritual matters. They were still walking as little children in the faith they claimed. He wanted so badly to share with them deep spiritual teachings. But they were not able to grasp these teachings because of their immaturity. Their words and their actions did not match. They were more interested in winning frivolous arguments and being known as somebody high in stature in their community. They did not have the servant’s heart and were not interested in humbling themselves under Christ.
Like the people who Paul was admonishing, when the world sees your walk is it different? Different from the masses who are not saved by grace. Do you still seek things of this world more than your relationship with Christ? Are money and possessions more important than people? Can the world see the difference between you and them? In other words, do you reflect Christ? If not, maybe it is time to self-reflect and evaluate your standing with Christ.
