2 Peter 1:5-7 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

The world is proud to be rebellious. There are many songs and movies about the broad road to hell. The world thinks it is fun and exciting. But the end of this is destruction. So why would the world seemingly choose this path to destruction? They perceive sin as fun and living for Christ hard. But knowing Jesus as savior is easy. Jesus made it easy for us by taking the difficult steps Himself. Then He pursues us and walks with us in this walk. This is how great our God is, that He would do this for us.

But when people see us walking the path of righteousness Jesus laid out, they do see some difficult steps. We as Christians have to have diligence walking with Christ. Our steps are to be determined. Then to our faith we add virtue. Virtue is the high moral standards Jesus calls us to. Then knowledge. We seek out all things Jesus. Self-control is then added which we all know is hard. We are then to persevere which means there will be tough times. But this leads us to godliness. The point in which we are mature in Christ. Then to brotherly love and kindness. Understanding that the people who offend and injure us are the ones Jesus has sent us to help. We as Christians flow north when the world flows south.

We are called to stand out from the world. Jesus was the very example of this. He was radical to the people of His day, just as we are to seem radical to the people of our day. We know nothing worth having comes easy. Jesus did the hard work so we could have salvation. We do hard work so others can see and know Christ through us. The broad road to hell is easy. Walking with Jesus is not. The world will be against you. But worry not for Jesus has overcome the world!
