Colossians 3:1-3 If you then were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your minds on the things above, not on the things of the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden in Christ.

Wha does being raised with Christ actually mean. Well, if you are raised, then first you must be lowered. This means your old self, life and wants have died. They were placed in the grave and have been buried there. The new you was raised up out of that grave and your new life awaits. So we should now seek the things of Jesus Christ, not of the world around us. Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father. This means His work is finished and He is waiting on you to display His example on this earth by learning His way.

This means the fruits of the Spirit should be displayed in your actions. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. So, does your life reflect these? If not all at least some? These are our measuring sticks. We know it is not easy to live life with people. Some when they are around us are like fingernails dragging on a chalk board. But if this was an easy task, would we actually change? Nothing in my life that has come easy has changed me for the good.

Every day we should be getting up and crucifying the flesh that holds us back. We crucify our flesh because we keep going back to the grave and try to put it back on. But we know that a person’s soul is the most valuable possession they have. Saving souls is what caused Jesus to come and sacrifice everything to save it. Take time today to reflect on how you are reflecting Jesus.
