1 Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ
It has been studied and the average person has around fifty thoughts per minute. That is three thousand thoughts an hour. If you are like everyone else, not all of thoughts are good thoughts. We then should take the efforts to protect our minds from the thoughts that pass. How do we do this? We should be very careful the images we let into our eyes and the words that enter our ears. The old adage is correct; we become what we are around. So choose wisely who you associate with. These are just a few ways to protect our minds.
We are to think clearly of the roads in which we travel. It is true we will never not be around sin or sinful people. But we can be light bringers into the dark world in which we live. We do this by staying in the scriptures and filling our minds with the words of life. Praying that God will use us to fulfill His purposes in which He called us. The last commands in Matthew tell us to go forth making disciples of all men, discipling and teaching them the ways of Jesus Christ.
The only way any of this is possible is by putting our hope, our thoughts and our actions in the hands of Jesus. He is the only way in which any of our journey is possible. The pull of sin is strong when we walk in our strength. Often times we fail and need forgiveness walking this way. Jesus will never fail to lift us up when we repent. The blueprint has been laid out before us. All we need to do is follow the plans. I pray that you will have a blessed day in our magnificent Lord and Savior.
