John 3:8 “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit”
Wind is created by the uneven heating of the earth’s surface by the sun. This causes differences in the atmospheric pressure. Now we cannot see the heat warming the earth but can feel it. We cannot see when the atmospheric pressure changes but can feel it. We cannot see where the wind is going but can feel it. This is how the Holy Spirit works. We can see it but we can feel the change it is making in our lives.
Do you know the only sin we cannot be saved from? It is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. What is this? The Holy Spirit was sent by God the Father to testify of His Son Jesus. The reason we can be saved is that the Holy Spirit prompts us to be conscience of the saving grace Jesus provided for us. When we blaspheme the Holy Spirit we are denying Jesus. The Holy Spirit also makes it possible once we are saved to understand the hidden things from God’s word. Have you ever read the same scripture on different days and the meaning of the scripture changes to a deeper meaning? This is the Holy Spirit working.
We often are scared by things we cannot physically see. Like the noises in the day that change at night. We cannot see so we become fearful. But to embrace the power of the Holy Spirit means we grow to a deeper level of understanding of the workings of God. How do you receive the Holy Spirit? By accepting the gift of salvation Jesus provided to us through His death, burial and resurrection. If you have not, do not fear the thing not seen. It is God calling you.
