Mark 3:1-2 And He entered the synagogue again, and a man was there who had a withered hand. So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.
There are so many times that when we operate in the flesh we would cut off our nose to spite our face. There are numerous examples throughout history of this occurring. But just take time to think of your own life. I am sure there are times that you can reflect back on. Why? Is it because of pride? Is it because no matter what we want to be the kings of our lives? This is the cause of so much worry and pain. But think about acting like this with the Savior of the world.
Jesus came because of the compassion He had for us. He understood the fate that awaited us. But as He walked this earth, He could not help but love people. He entered the synagogue and saw a man with a withered hand. Which is greater, the Law or the man? The religious crowd was waiting with baited breath. They knew Jesus and His nature. The did not care for the man with the crippled hand. They wanted Jesus to heal the man so they could accuse Him of breaking the Law. Think they would think like this if it were them needing a miracle?
The sad part is they did need the greatest miracle. They had the greatest disease ever known to man. It is called sin. Without the forgiveness of Jesus, they are going to spend eternity in hell. Yet because of their pride and spite they would not come to repentance. They would not acknowledge the Son of God. What about you? Are you full of pride and spite? Where are you going to spend eternity? Choose wisely.
