1 Thessalonians 1:8 For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia but also in every place. Your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
Paul was in Thessalonica to spread Jesus to the people. When he got there, he realized the church there had already witnessed to the people. Not only there but in the surrounding cities. He complimented their faith and service. Think about being complimented by the greatest missionary in history of your faith and work spreading Jesus to the world. What a testimony!
We forgot in the modern church sometimes that church is not there to serve us. The church is not to be just a gathering spot for socialization and coffee. The church is for equipping the saints to spread the gospel to the world. We are to be active learners from our pastors and teachers. We are to take what we learn outside of the four walls of the church. This is the calling Jesus gives us in Matthew 28. It is the Great Commission.
Take time to think of the gift God has given you to accomplish this mission. If you are a people person and love to talk, then talk about Jesus. If you like to serve, then go serve in a place and talk about Jesus. If you love to write, then write about Jesus. Maybe through this you too can be complimented on your faith and service for Jesus.
