Colossians 3:12-13 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.

Sometimes people argue and hold grudges for the strangest reasons. What about a feud over order and knowledge? One of these is the feud of who created calculus. This dispute was between Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Both mathematicians claimed they conceptualized and penned this style of math. Newton accused Leibniz of stealing his notes and presenting the style of math he created as his on. This has led to years of confusion and controversy. People will fuss and feud over anything.

As Christians we are called to be different. We are to put on tender mercies and show kindness to one another. We are to bear with one another and strive to live peaceably. If there is a dispute, we are to be quick to forgive. This is the example Christ set for us. But the pull of the flesh is strong, so we must take steps to weaken the flesh. We are to be in God’s word and pray so we can crucify the flesh. When we fail to do this as commanded, then we start to be led by emotion rather than grace.

To live a life like this, we must first have a relationship with Jesus Christ. We are to submit to His Lordship and follow Him. He is never far away; we just need to seek Him. Look around the world today. See all the confusion and hard feelings men and women have for each other. When Christ comes into our lives this comes to an end. Seek peace by seeking Jesus.
