Genesis 28:16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.”
There was a television show that debuted in the 1940’s called Candid Camera. The gist was people were caught in everyday funny situations not knowing they were being filmed. Various versions of this show aired up until 2014. Can you imagine being caught in a situation where you were in a not so good for you situation and the world was watching? But all of mankind for all of time has been seen every second of every day by an omniscient and omnipresent God.
Jacob was sleeping and had a dream of angels climbing up and down stairs from heaven. He awoke and he realized God was in the place he was resting. Then he made the statement he did not know it. What we all need to realize is that God is always there. No matter where that where is. He sees the good and He sees the bad and everything in-between. There is nothing that He misses and nothing He does not know. We should have this in the forefront of our minds always.
Thinking about this, we all know those moments where we fall and sin. Yes, God sees those moments. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The blessing is that we have a friend. This friend understands the human curse. The curse of sin. He knows we as humans can not overcome this in our flesh. So He came down from heaven and put on flesh like a man. But He was fully God. He lived a perfect life and did not sin. Then He gave us the greatest gift. He was hung on a cross, all of the sins of mankind was put on Him, and He paid the punishment price for us. His name is Jesus Christ. Do you know Him?
