Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

John 1:1 tells us in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Later in John it tells us the Word is Jesus. Here in Hebrews the word is living and powerful. So Jesus is the word, He is God; He lives and is powerful. In John 14:6 Jesus says He is the Truth. So to sum this up, Jesus being God, He is living and powerful and He is the truth. There are millions in the world today who pervert the Truth. Confused over simple biology they corrupt our children. Denying Truth they live in sexual immorality. The list can go on and on.

The real reason behind the sin we just outlined is pride. People want to be the gods of their own lives, so they deny the true God. But their denials will not escape the sword of the word. It separates even the joints and marrow. Their relative truth will be splayed like a fish. Because truth is not relative, it is an attribute of God. Jesus is truth, but they deny the truth. Where the truth is denied, then there is confusion. The sin abounds. Do you then believe the Truth or do you believe in relative truth? Do you believe in what is right or what is right for you?

These topics are hard. But so is life. You may have family members that fall on the wrong side of the Truth. The question is who do you love more. them or Jesus? Matthew 10:35 “For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter in law against her mother in law. Matthew 10:37 “He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me.” The line has been drawn by Jesus Christ. Which side do you stand on.
