2 Corinthians 9:6-7 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

The heart and what comes from it is the concern of God. What is in your heart? Is it a place of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control, goodness, long suffering and faithfulness? What about giving? Do you have greed in your heart? Do you love mammon more than God? These are all questions we should ask ourselves on a daily basis. Our relationship to God should trump everything. The fruits of the Spirit are signs of our relationship with Him.

So from a softened heart we should give. Give of our time, our ability and our money. We do this out of an overflow of the love shown to us by Jesus. This is how we take Jesus to the world. This is how we win people to the cause of Christ. People do not care what you know until they know that you care. So give of all you have cheerfully. Do not let pride or greed sneak in. Show the love to others that has been shown to you by God.

If you do not have a heart like was described above and you find you are struggling, then the first place to turn is Christ. He will show you the way. You will feel so much love that love will overflow out of you and your heart will be softened. He is seeking you, all you have to do is stop and ask for His help. May your heart be blessed today.
