1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child; but when I was a man I put childish things away.

Could you imagine someone walking into the work place dressed in a diaper only. These days that may not be that hard to think of, but truly that should be looked at as an oddity. As we grow, we are supposed to mature into confident adults and able to care for ourselves. Also looking around today we see that this is not as common as it used to be. But that is the point of growing older. In the same way, we are to grow into adults as Christians.

Our baby steps into Christianity is when we get saved. There are too many people that get stuck here. But we are not called to stay as spiritual babes. We are to grow and mature. We should be able as an adult in Christ to take his word to the world. Live our Christianity out in front of people and teach them how to follow the word of God. Are you at this point in your walk with Jesus? Can you let others watch you and you reflect Him? Can you lead a small group study?

It is time for the body of Christ to take seriously how to mature in Christ. If you are a teacher, teach. If you are called to be a children’s class leader, then lead the children. All the way down to the person called to clean the church. We are not working for the approval of man. No, we are working as Jesus has called us to work. If you are struggling with this, take time and ask God to help you. To be a Christian is more than being saved. We are to work from the overflow of love He has instilled in us. Are you ready?
