Acts 4:1-3 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead. And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.
How do you handle telling people your testimony? Have you ever thought about giving your testimony? This is the road map that is used to bring people to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. But often times it makes us nervous to even think of speaking these words of power to the public. We feel like it is not enough, or we think we will be embarrassed if someone asks us a spiritual question and we do not have the answer. But Jesus calls us to go forth and make disciples of all nations. This starts with people understanding where we came from.
Peter and John have received the Holy Spirit and they are out spreading Jesus to the world. Then they are arrested for giving their testimony and preaching the resurrection. So, by this we know the first step is to depend on the Holy Spirit when speaking of spiritual matters. We do not trust in ourselves, but trust in God to help us. This is how we operate in the kingdom of God. It is not about us but our faith in Him. This is imperative. He gives us the words to say. We just need to trust that no matter what happens God is with us. Even if this leads us to places we never expected to be.
God has given us the privilege of telling others about his saving grace. There is no other way that is more impactful than when someone you know who cares, shares the way to Jesus. Do your neighbors and co-workers need God’s saving grace? Have you taken the time to tell them? Tomorrow is not promised for anyone. What if your testimony could have been the tipping point to bring them to salvation? Isn’t a little embarrassment worth their soul?
