Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek the Lord while He may be found. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to the Lord. And He will have mercy on him. And to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
“The one who searches by heart eventually finds what they are looking for.” We are called to seek the Lord multiple times in the scriptures. But we learned last time that truly He is seeking you. But this is talking more about the condition of your heart. You have to want to be found by Jesus. He will not force you to love Him. So have you ever really taken the time to think about what kind of condition your heart is in? Not the physical heart but the spiritual heart.
If you do this and find wickedness there, then you have the opportunity to forsake this way. This starts with your thought life. What thoughts do you let float around in your mind? What images do you let go through your eyes to burn themselves in your mind? Is it all worldly, fleshly stuff? Do you take time to even seek the Lord through His word? Repentance is not just asking forgiveness. It is turning away from the sin you struggle with. Do you enjoy playing in the pig pin of sin?
If not, then there is the opportunity to repent. Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin. Turn away from this and head toward God. He has been calling you and wants you to follow His voice. Sin may be fun at the beginning, but it will lead you down a road in the end that you do not want to travel. But this road is avoidable and you can live a life of joy with Him. Will you come to Him today?
