Genesis 8:1 Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
There was a time that the people on this earth were too corrupt to live. Everything was corrupt because of the promise God made about a savior to be born. Satan attempted, along with his angels, to corrupt the bloodline through sin. God, in answer to this, allowed a flood to destroy everything that was corrupted. Noah, his wife and sons, then every animal that was not corrupt was on the Ark–a boat that was protected by God that Noah built. God had to start over through the people and animals He saved from the flood.
Then God remembered Noah. This is what the text says, Did He forget Noah was on the Ark with the animals? No. It was now the time that he deemed right for His plan to continue. See this is the thing. We are not on our time schedule. Everything is on the time line God sets. We fail to see this through our human eyes. We think we have to hustle and work for everything to be on schedule. We do have to participate, but the time is God’s.
How do you start your day? Is everything you do planned around your schedule? Take the kids there, make it to work, pick up the kids and then finish homework. Before you know it you are in bed and have left God out. We need to make God a priority. There is prayer time, scripture reading and reflection on what His word tells you. Do you make these a priority? Just like Noah, there will be a time God remembers us. Our time will be up and we can not fight that. Are you ready? Are you prepared?
Key Takeaways
- God remembered Noah in Genesis 8:1, not because He forgot, but because it was time for His plan to continue.
- Human schedules often distract us from making God a priority in our lives, as seen in the story of Noah.
- Reflecting on scripture and prayer should be essential parts of our daily routine to prepare for God’s timing.
- Like Noah, we must be ready and prepared for the time when God will remember us.
