Proverbs 30:24-28 There are four things which are little on the earth, but they are exceedingly wise. The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer. The rock badgers are a feeble folk, yet they make their homes in the crags. The locusts have no kings, yet they all advance in ranks. The spider skillfully grasps with its hands, and it is in kings places.

We are going into the new year and it is time for our resolutions. Here is some wisdom from the book of Proverbs that will hopefully set your mind on positive thoughts. We have four examples of creatures that God made and can take wisdom from. They are not large animals or fierce predators but they are able to thrive. We can all take lessons from these creatures and live a better life.

Our first example is ants. They are small and often unseen. But if you pay attention they are always busy working for their colony. They have food when needed and use teamwork to thrive. The rock badger. A small rabbit like creature that lives in the crags of cliffs to protect themselves from predators. They have no defense so they live where not many other animals can reach them. The locusts. They are small but if you have ever seen the devastation a locust swarm can do to crops you know they are powerful when they come together. What is so amazing is they have no leader but they can take down kingdoms with their swarm. Finally the spider. It can spin the most beautiful webs and can live undetected even in a king’s palace.

So this year take the example of these four creatures. Stay busy in God’s work like an ant. Protect yourself living in the crags of the gospel. Come together with other Christians like the locusts. And finally, use the skills God gives you to help lead you wherever He desires you to be. I hope you have a blessed New Year.
