1 Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
Our modern world has become so technically advanced. We have all the knowledge we need at our finger tips. We can learn how to grow tomatoes and build drones in a matter of minutes. Doctors use this technology to decide the best course of treatment for disease. We can talk to anyone in the world even though we do not understand their language with translation apps. There is so much technology out there we can use for good. But….
If we do not have love for our fellow man then will any of what we talked about matter? Probably not because if we do not love others we use all the tools available for selfish means. All is as a sounding brass, it makes a good noise but in the end what does it accomplish? Love is the basis of life. Without love people become numb and walk through life trying to find meaning. Meaning they could only find through love.
Jesus loved people. What does this mean? He helped people. He healed their sickness. He listened and was empathetic to there plight. He fed the hungry. He sacrificed His time and effort for others. He ultimately went to the cross and took the punishment for our sin. His actions showed true love. There is no greater love than to lay down your life for your brother. This is paraphrased from John 15. So do you love others? If you do then your life will reflect Jesus. He is the greatest example.
