Proverbs 23:5 Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.

Trying to grab a hold of money is a fruitless task. It is like reaching your hand into a stream of water and grabbing hold. It all slips through your fingers. But the world will tell you the more of the money you have the happier you will be. But have you ever noticed the people who tell you that? They are not very happy or healthy looking. They are like moths attracted to the flame, in the end it consumes them.

Now there is nothing wrong with money. That is not what I am saying. But if it is your life’s pursuit to be rich, then be prepared for a long bumpy road. Life is more than this. It is first to seek wisdom which is the knowledge of the Lord. Then it is to be about helping your fellow man. When asked Jesus said it like this, “Love God with all you heart, mind and soul. Then love your neighbor as yourself.”

Life can be more than the hamster wheel that most are traveling on. It changes for the better the first day you come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Are you willing to explore this and find the truth? Then pray and ask God for eyes to see and a heart for understanding. Then continue to seek Him. It will fill your soul with joy and life will become better.
