Proverbs 27:19 As in water face reflects face, so a man’s heart reveals the man.
A reflection of something like the revelation of the intents of the heart can be dicey. The heart is fickle and can even fool the person to which it belongs. The heart in this interpretation is not the pump that keeps blood flowing. No the heart in this context is the seat of what the body and soul wants. Reflection can mean internal pondering of yourself. It can mean a thing that is a consequence of something else. Or it can be the image seen in the mirror.
This seems confusing right? This is how Satan operates. He comes from a place where he utilizes anything to accomplish his purposes. What we intend to do for good can be interpreted differently when Satan has confused those around us. But if we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, He deflects the intents of Satan and helps us overcome the efforts of our accuser. He clears up the confusion so others can see clearly the true reflections of your heart.
Does your heart reflect fertile ground that will allow others to see Christ in you? Or is the intents of your heart a consequence of Satan? There are many lenses to view the world from. But there is only One Truth. His name is Jesus Christ. He is the Way. He does not allow confusion or misinterpretation. Do you know Him and His way?
