Psalm 138:7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. And your right hand will save me.
In modern America we do not know the feel of true persecution, yet. All across the earth there are millions of Christians that live under threat daily. Pressure builds on them daily. You would think with the carnal mind that the church in those countries are on the way out. But you would be wrong. Christianity is spreading all across those foreign lands where persecution abounds.
It doesn’t make sense does it? Why do you think the church is growing so fast in these places but is decreasing in America? Well, David states that God walked with him in the midst of trouble. He revived David. The same thing is happening today with God’s people. He is helping them and walking with them. His goodness is being felt by those persecuted. And His church is growing! We have it easy in America. Things are at our fingertips, and we have drawn away from Him. Can we have a great revival? That depends on the person inside of the circle that is drawn around them. That is where revival starts, with us.
There will be a day when God will stretch out His hand against the enemy once and for all. Until that day, what are you doing to help further the kingdom? Are you scared of being persecuted? We all are, but will you let that distract from the mission God has given you? Pray for the persecuted church. Find a way to support them. Then go forth and spread the gospel to your community. It is your calling from an All Righteous God.
