Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.

We have come to the end of the Psalm 23 chapter. Most people think of this Psalm as verses spoken at funerals. It fits well with that theme, but I also think you see the hope in these verses for the everyday. This psalm ends on a very high note. We should recognize the excitement we can have living towards the future.

Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. Goodness comes from the root God. So God follows His children everyday of their lives. Along with His goodness, His mercy also follows us. This should tell you that failure will come. But we know that you cannot have success without failure. We ask forgiveness for sin and receive His mercy. This is not saying we seek to live a sinful life. No, we seek Him and along the way when sin comes, we swiftly repent and ask for forgiveness. And He is quick to forgive.

He is a loving Father, and we grow in our faith during this time on earth as Christians. Then one day on the sweet by and by, we will spend eternity in His presence. This should give us confidence and comfort as we live our lives out for Him. But this first starts with a relationship with Him. Tomorrow is promised to no one, and He comes as a thief in the night. Are you ready to meet Him?
