Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff comfort me.

There is no need to try and sugar coat this message. If you are alive, there is a day ahead where you will face death. This is something that all humans fear the most. What we know will come to an end and we will be faced with what comes next. What people fear the most about this is the unknown. People simply do not understand because the fear drives them away from knowing.

David was a warrior king. A man after God’s own heart. He faced death many times starting at an early age. Why doesn’t he seem fearful of facing his mortality? He states, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.” The shadow of death was around him often. But because He knew the Creator of the universe, he had comfort and courage. God upheld him and his faith was firmly placed in that fact. When he lost his child with Bathsheba, he stopped mourning, cleaned up and ate. He told his servant that one day he would see him again in heaven. He knew his child was in heaven with God! He lived his life knowing he would be too, one day.

What about you? Do you walk around in fear? Do you realize now that you do not have to live this way. There is hope. The Hope is Jesus. He came to take away that fear. He came to take away the punishment for your sin and mine. He is waiting for your to come home. All it takes is confessing Him as Lord, then he will be your Savior!
