Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me besides the still waters.
A careless shepherd makes it an easy meal for a wolf. So first, we must find the true Shepherd. But this is made easy for us because the true Shepherd sought us out. He came from heaven and walked on this earth as a man. He experienced every temptation but was found perfect. God provided the perfect sacrifice to cover the penalty for our sin. His name is Jesus and He is the Son of God.
He is my Shepherd and I do not want for any need. He knows my need before I do and supplies it. This is physical and spiritual needs. He takes it a step further. Through His goodness He makes it possible for me to lie down in cool green pastures, causing me to be rested and ready. I can do this because I have peace. Do you know that water that runs too fast actually scares sheep so they will not drink from it. So He leads me to still waters. Giving me the aforementioned peace.
Is the picture becoming clearer on just who Jesus Christ is and what He provides? He is the Creator of all things including humankind. He knows us. He knew us before we were in the womb. He knows our needs. And He wants a relationship with you! The question is are you ready for that relationship?
