Romans 13:13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry or drunkenness. not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

How do we walk properly? We do not walk in the dark. Jesus is light and when light is let in the darkness flees. When there is no presence of the Lord, darkness abounds. Good things do not happen in the dark. In fact, those who choose to walk in darkness will ultimately have a great fall. The world would make this seem like fun and games but truly this is life and death.

What happens in the darkness? Revelry and drunkenness. The world is obsessed with feeling good, so they use chemicals when they do not. Drugs and alcohol abuse are rampant in this country. Hundreds of thousands die each year from these. But people are just having a good time, as you will be told. Then there is lewdness and lust. People are trying to fill a void and they use and abuse each other. There is an epidemic of fatherless homes. This is proportionate to the crime rate. So this is just not fun and games.

Take a good look at the world today. People are just angry. They treat each other poorly. This goes hand in hand with the decline of the knowledge of Jesus. So, if you are a person who has Jesus, then let your love shine to the world. Maybe, just maybe you can drive darkness away and be the light someone needs to find salvation.
