2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

“If you know your enemy and yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” Sun Tzu. Who are you and who is your enemy? This question is the difference between life and death.

If you are a Christian and you are living in sin then you do not know yourself. The battle is being lost. So, regain the knowledge of the Lord, repent and live. Sin is our enemy it will bring us to a place we never thought we would end up. Living in sin is like the old scrubbing bubbles commercial. It starts out with the bubbles laughing and swirling around a toilet bowl. But in the end they get flushed and where do they end up? The sewer. Know your enemy and what he will do to your life.

Know yourself and realize that you were created with a desire for more in your heart. Not more of sin, not more rebellion but more of God. That is right; God created you with that desire and only He can fully fill that void. Come to the foot of the cross and ask Him to forgive your sin. Repent and live life in the holiness of His will. When this happens you will not fear during a thousand battles.
